Verified Purchase. I was very disappointed with this. With little explanation or useful manual the time goes so fast it's hard to find a way to play enjoyably.
Would not recommend to anyone. Not even any useful online support. It's way too confusing for a preteen or even younger. Good game for kids who love horses. Easy to figure out how to play. Fun for everyone. Perfect for my granddaughter! Great price! Speedy delivery!
Thanks so much! The Developers Should be Horse Whipped. If you are like me, and tend to disbelieve other reviewers who can't make a game run, caveat emptor. They may not be, in fact, dumber than you. I have found this out the hard way. This game does not work. It does not work on any of 4 separate and up to date platforms. The only thing it does consistantly is crash. The people who made this game shoud be horse whipped for making my little girl cry.
And shame on Amazon for selling garbage like this. I have had this game for a couple of weeks now, and it is quite fun, but not as advertised on the box.
To start with, buy the best horse you can for your money. Train it in everything it is short on, I usually skip the first race to make it better, then enter the next race. If you know what you are doing use the ctrl button to use the crop to increase the horse's speed, but be cautious of the horse's stress level you can win pretty easily. There is minimal grooming, you can interact with your horse and pet it or talk to it, but that's it.
And, if your horse doesn't like it, that can lower your relationship points. You have to use trial and error to find what your horse responds to. There are different treats you can use in the game and different interractions. The horse also responds differently to the different types of feed. In my experience, the higher costing barns will offer you a more fair price on a trained horse. I started with a cheap horse, raced it and won, then got offered to breed. I bought the foal, sold the sire, trained the foal, got offered to breed.
I bought that foal, sold that sire, and so on. I have a pretty nice looking horse now, and haven't bought a horse except a foal I have bred. This really is a kid's game. My kids love it, and have fun. A fun aspect is if you have more than one profile, all the horses records show against each other, so if you have a friend or sibling playing on your computer, you can try to beat each other's records.
One person found this helpful. It is a cheasey game with pretty bad graphics, I for the life of me can not figure out what the yellow Diamond on the horse stats stands for and that aggravates me. It can be mildly entertaining, and very easy to win money, but the explanations in the game are bad, and it is pretty glitchy. If you want easy wins, learn to run on the rail, it will save you from getting bumped around a lot which causes your horse to lose speed. Space bar will allow you to see what is going on behind you so you have a better chance at remaining in the lead.
I don't think I have gotten offered to stud yet even though my horse has won most of its races. If you want to waste your time being brain dead, this is the game for you. I have been playing this game for about a day, and I am not sure if it's worth the money.
There is also no support from either Cosmi or Egames. If you know how to fix this problem please write a review. The second problem is sometimes when you run in a race, horses run off the field,thus never finishing the race.
By not finishing the race you have to quit the races, losing any money, and fame. However there is a simple solution, wait about 13 minutes by the timer's time and the computer disqualifies the run away horse. There is no health indicator, and there is no instructions, besides the manual on the computer which doesn't really help to much.
You also don't get to breed your own horses, or groom them the box LIES. On the horse info. So, you don't know what the yellow diamond means, by the way please explain this diamond.
However the blue equal sign means that the has stayed the same, the green plus sign is the increased, and the red subtraction sign means that the decreased hope that made sense. The graphics need work, but the concept and modes are fine, and that's why I gave it a 3 star review.
Here are some tips. Train your horses everyday. If you have more than one horse rotate your horses' training everyday. By training your horse constantly you have more of a chance to win 1rst, 2nd, or 3rd. Buy the colt that you breed, if a reasonable price, because most of my colts are actually better than their sire, by a LOT!!! Finally, listen to who ever you talk to, such as the trainer, vet, and farm owner.
